This is one of my all time favorite book and I’ve have a habit of rereading around New Years every year. It will help you start the year in the right mindset.
2. Will by Will Smith, Mark Manson
This inspirational memoir is both powerful and entertaining! Will Smith talks about his childhood growing up in Philly and goes through his life and his career eventually becoming a top actor. I literally could not stop listening to this book. He narrates it like he is storytelling which never leaves a dull moment. This book made me laugh, made me cry and made me very inspired.
3. Crucial Conversations, Tools for Talking When Stakes are High by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, Al Switzler, and Ron McMillan
When it comes to handling high stakes conversations, this book has amazing strategies to help you get you work with others, be heard and build strong communication skills. This book truly highlights the importance of looking inward and being able to be a good communicators, both firm and approachable. It provides easy steps that anyone can apply to their work or relationships. Every business professional should read this book!

This book lists keys parts on how to embody various stoic habits. It connects methods to successful icons, like JFK and Tiger Woods . There were parts that were truly enlightening by highlighting the importance of being still when facing adversity. If you enjoy stoic philosophy, this is the book for you!

Running on Empty is a great book on childhood psychology and how trauma or childhood neglect can effect us as adults. This also related this childhood neglect to why as adults we may not feel fulfilled or happy. There were many topics most people can relate with and will help you reflect on you own childhood. This is a must read for anyone who likes to self-reflect.
6. Finding Latinx by Paola Ramos
Any Latinx or Hispanic-American should read this book. It not only help connect me to my own community, it told stories of the hardships we face. It provides concrete data and studies of civil rights issues from things like farming toxins to life difficulties and struggles for transgender men and women. Each story is heartfelt and heavy. I’m so happy and inspired by this book and hope you can connect the same way I did.
7. The Heart-Led Leader by Thomas Spaulding
Spaulding executed this inspirational leadership book well. It covers reasons why leading from your heart can positively impact your team and improve your work centers’ production. Anyone who prioritizes leadership philosophy and wants to increase their work environment should read this book.
8. In Our Country We Love, My Family Divided by Diane Guerrero, Michelle Burford
This inspirational memoir talks about an actresses childhood where he parents were deported and the struggles she faced as a teenager. This book had some highs and lows, but was overall very touching. I enjoyed hearing her story and following her on her journey to becoming an actress on Netflix’s, Orange is the New Black. This a must read for those who enjoy memoir and overcoming difficult circumstances.
9. Coping With Difficult People by Robert Bramson
I enjoyed this professional guide to coping with difficult people in a work environment. If you work in a professional setting where you are sensing someone could be difficult to work with, there are so many great strategies to help get your job accomplished and defuse a potential bad work relationship. This is a quick read but very effective in changing you responses.
10. The Influential Mind by Tali Sharot
If you enjoy hearing research and statics on what makes people highly influential, this book is for you. I enjoyed this book because it deep dove into the various tactics to being influential. It connects known influential people and truly makes your rethink how you approach a discussion where influence would be needed. This is a longer read, but has a lot of great information.
